Experience
I teach English as a second language, writing, and reading at the high school level as well as in pre-college programs. I've worked with students of all ages, including adults. I went to Indiana University of Pennsylvania to earn my bachelor's degree in Spanish, and I was able to spend time studying abroad in Mexico at La Universidad de Las Americas. As an undergraduate, I tutored peers in essays and other English topics. I then went on to Northern Arizona University for my masters degree in bilingual and multicultural education. As a graduate student, I taught ESL courses at the junior high level. After I received my graduate degree, I took an adjunct role at a community college teaching courses like language arts, graphic design computer literacy, visual arts, writing, reading, and ESL through a program for adults. Overall, my goal is to help students improve their communication skills in writing and as English speakers. I like to help students become confident in their abilities because I believe that this leads to their success. When I have free time, I like to practice photography, study mythology in anthropology, go on bike rides, and hike.
