Experience
In my tutoring, I use a researched technique called "Fading." In this technique students are started with solved problems and gradually "faded" into solving problems themselves by removing more and more of the solution. This technique has been reported in several peer-reviewed journals and I have employed it in my classroom teaching as well. I have tutored at the college level for more than 15 years and have served on the faculty of several community colleges and universities. I have a particular interest in getting students involved in STEM disciplines and like to employ tutoring as that gateway.
