Experience
Greetings! My name is Fiorella and I have a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, and an M.S and B.A. in Chemistry. My professional endeavors have included being a Chemist at the American Dental Association Paffenbarger Research Center, a pre-doctoral fellow at the Carnegie Institution of Washington, a Scientific Liaison at the US Geological Survey, a fellow at ACUB, and currently a consultant for LMI. I have tutored for almost two decades dozens of high school, college and graduate students. I love helping others learn and particularly enjoy when students have that "aha!" moment. When tutoring, I focus on identifying problem areas each student may have and tailoring the session appropriately; helping the student develop test taking skills; as well as a solid understanding of the subject; and sharing with them effective study techniques and organizational skills. I also was a student athlete in college and know first hand the needs and challenges a student athlete encounters when pursuing a professional degree. I am also bilingual (Spanish).
