Private tutor in Cary, NC

Education

Senior Physics Major at North Carolina State University, Minor in Mathematics. (I am also available in the area (5 miles)surrounding NC State University on certain days and times, and generally I have flexible hours during the week.) Currently applying for jobs in the research and development within the private sector anticipating my graduation in May 2016

Experience

Enthusiastic tutor with experience teaching mathematics and physics to high school and college students. I have been using sites like this to tutor mathematics and physics for two years and I have been an instructor for the Red Cross teaching Lifeguard training and CPR/First Aid training for 3 years. I have completed all of my required college math courses through linear algebra and applied differential equations. I have been tutoring friends and family in mathematics and physics on and off for years and I have skills working with high school and college-aged young adults. I love to pass on my skills and understanding to others through continued practice and a deep conceptual understanding. I am very enthusiastic about looking at mathematics and physics from different perspectives to fully understand the concepts. A common theme that my professors have been emphasizing in my physics studies is "you don't truly understand physics until you can accurately explain it to a stranger" and that is my intention in my own development and in helping to have others gain mastery over whatever subjects they need. Relevant Scores: SAT: 790 Math SAT on singular attempt Received A’s in Undergraduate courses: Electrodynamics Quantum Physics (B+) Classical Mechanics Astrophysics Calculus 2 and 3 Space-Time Physics Physics Programming (Python) etc *** University Honors Program for Freshman and Sophomore year. Completed college mathematics through applied differential equations and linear algebra. Completed college physics through quantum mechanics and electrodynamics (and more).

Hobbies

Hobbies: Web development/Programming, Music, Dancing, Swimming/Diving, Sailing, Traveling. Lastly: I am very down to earth and I realize that not every student will be feeling excited all the time about material that they struggle with. But generally I work best with those who have at least a base level desire to learn the material well enough to do well.
